Late July China-Australia Route Launches and August Rate Forecast
Two new direct shipping routes to Australia will be launched by the end of July, which will greatly change the current tight capacity situation on China‑Australia lane.
1. MSK & ONE new QILIN (AUX) service as attached
Routing: Shanghai — SYD — MEL , weekly sailing with capacity 2500TEU, fast transit time for Shanghai cargo.

2. COSCO, OOCL, CMA joint new A3X service as attached
Routing: Qingdao‑Shanghai‑Shekou‑MEL‑SYD, capacity 3500‑4000TEU, covering north, east and south China ports.

At present, freight rate to Australia keeps high due to insufficient space. With large new capacity released simultaneously in late July, the market supply will increase sharply. The industry is waiting to see if ocean freight rates will go down in August.
